Born and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri, John graduated from Central High School and Missouri Western State University. Following college, he attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, graduating in 1993. While in law school, he was a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Dispute Resolution and was selected for admission into the Order of the Barristers.
Following law school, John worked for a small firm outside of St. Louis specializing in personal injury litigation, worker’s compensation and criminal defense. In 1996 he completed the prestigious Trial Lawyers College sponsored by the American Trial Lawyers Association.
Since 1998, John has practiced in northwest Missouri, representing clients in personal injury litigation, worker’s compensation matters, divorce/custody cases and criminal cases. In addition to handling dozens of child custody cases, he has been appointed by local judges numerous times to represent children involved in custody matters involving allegations of child abuse or neglect. John has handled worker’s compensation claims against some of the biggest employers in the state, including Ford Motor Company, General Motors, McDonnell-Douglass, Altec Industries, Triumph Foods, and Johnson Controls. He has represented clients in civil and criminal matters in 15 counties throughout Missouri.
In his limited free time, John likes to run, read, write and do things with his family. He is married and has two children ages 11 and 6.
